Christ's Unspeakable Gift

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
To the woman at the well, Jesus said:
John 4:10
...If thou knewest the gift of God...

What is this gift?

Romans 6:23
...the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Consider this gift:

It's a unique gift.
Unique: Existing as the only one or as the sole example
Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
It's a universal gift.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

It is God’s desire that every man, woman and child receive the gift of eternal life.

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
It's an undeserved gift.
Ephesians 2:8–9 KJV 1900
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
It’s an unending gift.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Everlasting means lasting forever. By virtue of the definition of everlasting, once you have received the God’s gift of everlasting life, then you can never lose it.

All who are reading this fall into one of two categories:

You have either received this wonderful gift and should be thankful (2 Corinthians 9:15) or...

You need to receive this wonderful gift.
Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

The Lord has allowed my wife and I the opportunity to serve Him, at South Charlotte Baptist Church, since 2000! It's been quite the journey. The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows!
