Why Is It Important?

Why is the ministry of South Charlotte Baptist Academy so important and so needed and why should you, as a parent, consider partnering with SCBA?

Take a moment to read Psalm 78:4-7 and then, from that passage, allow me to share with you 4 reasons why the ministry of South Charlotte Baptist Academy is so important and so needed and why you should continue your partnership with SCBA.

Reason #1: The world is hiding the praises of God, His strength, and His wonderful works from our children.

We will not hide them from their children, Shewing to the generation to come The praises of the Lord, and his strength, And his wonderful works that he hath done. Psalm 78:4

‌How is the world hiding the things of God? By teaching children that the world came into existence by complete chance - by evolution. (Consider, Evolution Education in the U.S. Getting Better.)

At South Charlotte Baptist Academy, we actively seek to point children to the wonderful works of God, not just in science class but in every class!

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

Reason #2: Parents have an awesome, God-given responsibility. They can use all the help they can get!

For he established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which he commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children: Psalm 78:5

‌The Bible is clear that parents have been given the monumental responsibility to bring their chidren up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:4)

However, In our world today, there is a concerted effort to make a parents job more difficult. Many educational institutions are actively hiding things from parents: curriculum being taught, student’s “gender” identity and pronouns, etc.

According to one article, more than 3.2 million US public school students are covered by guidance that blocks parents from knowing whether their child identifies as a different gender in the classroom. (And yes, this is happening in North Carolina.)

At South Charlotte Baptist Academy, we understand how challenging it is to be a parent in the 21st century and we want to do all that we can to help and encourage parents in their God-given task!

Reason #3: The generation to come needs to know God and the things of God.

That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; Who should arise and declare them to their children: Psalm 78:6

The world certainly wants to fill our children’s mind with “knowledge.” Unfortunately, much of that “knowledge” is simply evil and wickedness wrapped up with a pretty bow!

To illustrate that, a public school in Pennsylvania invited a biological female, who “identifies” as a male and uses male pronouns to discuss the topic of dating with 14 year olds! A topic that our young people need to learn about? Certainly. A topic that Christian parents want their children to learn about from a queer witch? I don't think so.

South Charlotte Baptist Academy desires to assist parents as they seek to establish a foundation of faith in God and God's Word in the life of their children as their children seek to know the Lord!

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; Philippians 3:10

Reason #4: The generation to come needs hope.

That they might set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep his commandments: Psalm 78:7

A PEW Research study has shown that depression is on the rise among American teenagers. Seven-in-ten U.S. teens said anxiety and depression is a major problem among people their age.

How is this being depression being dealt with? In a vast majority of cases - medication. According to the Pharmaceutical Journal the number of young people, aged 5-12, being prescribed anti-depressants increased by more than 40% between 2015 and 2021.

King David knew what it was like to suffer from depression and discouragement. He found his hope in God. In fact, in Psalm 42:11, David states that God is the health of his countenance!

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him For the help of his countenance. O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee From the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar. Psalm 42:5-6
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, Who is the health of my countenance, and my God. Psalm 42:11

The songwriter, Norman J. Clayton, penned these words:

My Hope is in the Lord, who gave Himself for me And paid the price of all my sin at Calvary For me He died; For me He lives, And everlasting life and light He freely gives.
