God of Miracles

First all allow me to apologize...

While I didn't think of it at the time, I certainly understand how the title of my last post ("Saying Goodbye") could certainly have caused some anxiety!

Stephenie and I certainly would like to thank all of you for your prayers in regards to Logan Dale! God is the God of miracles. Everything that has taken place over the past week - including Logan's surgery and recovery - has been nothing short of a miracle and we praise the Lord for that!

Stephenie and I arrived back in Charlotte on Saturday afternoon after an extremely turbulent flight from Seattle to Chicago and then an almost missed flight in Chicago (to Charlotte)!

Logan continued to improve on Saturday and into Sunday.

The above picture was taken some time on Sunday afternoon after all the tubes had been taken out of his mouth. As you can see in the picture, he is still receiving a small amount of oxygen while his lungs continue to recover from the CDH.

To my understanding, the next "milestones" will be 1) to begin feeding Logan orally and 2) to step him down from the NICU to a "step down" unit. (Currently, Logan is still being fed through an IV.)

One milestone that he has passed, which isn't necessarily pleasant to think about, is that he has POOPED! That is an indication that his intestines, which had been in his chest cavity, are working properly since being put back in their proper place

Beyond that, it is simply to see him develop well enough to be able to go home!

Stephenie and I will look forward to the time when he is at home so that we can plan our return trip to actually be able to hold him!

Until next time...reach 1!

About Me

The Lord has allowed my wife and I the opportunity to serve Him, at South Charlotte Baptist Church, since 2000! It's been quite the journey. The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows!
