We Need More, Not Less

I thought you only saw this kind of thing in foreign countries!

Notice the picture above. It is a statue of a false god. In its hands it is clutching a bowl. Inside that bowl has been placed money. At its feet are various pieces of fruit. Offerings to the gods! I though you saw thins kind of thing in foreign countries or in missionary presentations!

Nope, this picture was taken in the Yorkmount neighborhood which is located near to Carowinds. This false god and its offerings were in front of a house where I had placed a Neighborhood Bible Time flier.

Then, there was this...

Our children are under attack!

At a recent Pineville Town Council meeting, a local business owner expressed their desire for the town of Pineville to officially recognize Pride Month.

As part of their presentation, they shared illustrations of Pineville residents who were supportive of the idea of the town of Pineville openly supporting Pride Month.

As you can see from the photo above, one of those residents who were "supportive" is a 6 year old who drew a picture and wrote, "We can be gay. It's Ok."

It would be my supposition that this 6 year does not fully understand what it means to be gay and I would further state that this 6 year old has likely never been taught the truth of God's Word or, if they have, they've likely been taught that the Bible (and those who believe the Bible) are hateful.

We need more, not less!

Both of these examples should go to demonstrate the fact that, As a church, we need to be out in our community and interacting with our community seeking to give the truth of God's Word to our community.

I want to challenge you...if you are a part of South Charlotte Baptist Church then you are a part of the Pineville community whether you live in the Pineville area or not. And, as a result, every one of us have a responsibility to get into the Pineville area for the primary purpose of sharing the truth of God's Word. There's at least one 6 year old in our community who desperately needs the truth!

Until then...Reach 1!

About Me

The Lord has allowed my wife and I the opportunity to serve Him, at South Charlotte Baptist Church, since 2000! It's been quite the journey. The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows!
